Overview

The success of the 1980 film "Coal Miner's Daughter", opened up country music and performers to popular filmmaking.  This film and lecture series explores the way Hollywood has presented country music in contemporary films.  Four acclaimed movies will be shown and discussed including:

May 9 - Walk the Line (2005)

May 15 - Honeysuckle Rose (1980)

June 5 - Tender Mercies (1983)
