Land Trust of North Alabama, Alabama’s first land trust, provides 65+ miles of free public trails on their Nature Preserves for you to explore: 1,107+ acre Monte Sano Nature Preserve protecting the west face of Huntsville’s Monte Sano Mountain; 843+ acre Wade Mountain Nature Preserve in Northwest Huntsville; 971 acre Blevins Gap Nature Preserve in Southeast Huntsville, and more. Trails are open to the public dawn to dusk. The Land Trust has preserved over 6,600 acres of open space in their ten-county service area and provides seasonal guided hikes, environmental education, and trail care events.
