(Huntsville, AL) –The Huntsville-Madison County Hospitality Association recognized the outstanding accomplishments of hospitality professionals in the Huntsville/Madison County community at the Huntsville Marriott on January 21, 2014.

Each year, the organization holds the dinner to honor members who have exhibited true hospitality and professionalism in the industry. The presentation of the Pineapple and Red Ribbon awards, awarded at the dinner, are the hospitality industry’s highest honors. The winning individuals work to enhance the area’s image, promote tourism, are considered role models and are active in the hospitality industry and in the community. The following individuals were presented the prestigious Red Ribbon Award.

HUNTSVILLE, Alabama - After spending more than a year searching Huntsville's landscape, California developer Case Lawrence said he has found the ideal spot to launch the city's first fully-dedicated indoor trampoline park on University Drive.

In April, Lawrence's 10th U.S. trampoline park, Shakalaka, will open inside the former Hibbett Sports building in the Huntsville West Shopping Center on 4710 University Drive. Renovations are set to begin soon on the 26,000-square-foot facility, which will feature up to 12,000 square feet of trampolines.
Downtown Huntsville to host 'largest congregation of street food vendors anywhere in Alabama'

HUNTSVILLE, Alabama - Downtown Huntsville will play host in 2014 to what organizers are calling "the largest congregation of street food vendors anywhere in Alabama."

The Rocket City's first-ever "Street Food Season" will kick off in April and run through late October featuring 11 mobile vendors selling tacos, cupcakes, barbecue and other on-the-go cuisine.

Featuring nearly 100 costumed characters representing Huntsville's past, this year's event raised over $11,700 in donations, the most donated directly from the Cemetery Stroll in the event's nearly three decade history.
