Every third Friday of the month starting in April and ending in October (Huntsville's Street Food Season), a herd of food trucks will take over downtown Huntsville to serve up some of the Valley’s best street food in what are called "Street Food Gatherings." The event takes place on Church Street between Williams and Clinton (by Big Spring International Park and the Huntsville Museum of Art). There’s no charge to get in to enjoy the huge variety of food, plus there’s live music and a few biergartens to boot! The monthly gatherings take place from 6-9 p.m., but there are three Saturday breakfast sessions from 7-10 a.m. Check out the downtown Huntsville website for all the information!
The lineup may not be the same week to week, but you can count on finding something you (and your kids or friends) will love. From Angel’s Island Coffee, to Earth and Stone Wood Fired Pizza, to Badd Newz BBQ, to Bigfoot’s Little Donuts, you’ll have a hard time choosing!
I had a great time at the food truck gathering recently! There was a great turnout, but I didn’t have to wait more than 10 minutes from getting into a line to putting food into my mouth. I chose to try the “Notorious B.I.G.” from the I Love Bacon truck. With mac and cheese and bacon on a sourdough bun, one bite put me in food truck heaven! Next, I stopped off at the Huntsville Museum of Art to grab a beer from local brewery Blue Pants as part of the museum’s Palette Pitstop event on food truck nights. I was too full to eat anything else there, but I did swing by Sugar Belle Truck for a chocolate chip cookie dough cupcake to go.
I hope you enjoy this video, and if you’re like me, watching it will make you hungry! So make sure to check out the street food gatherings when you’re in town!
