Purveyor Huntsville

Pur-vey-or:

A provider of particularly high-end fare, provisions and merriment.

Downtown Huntsville recently welcomed a new and vibrant restaurant to the neighborhood. Purveyor Huntsville, located at the corner of Jefferson Street and Holmes Avenue, offers patrons a casual yet sophisticated atmosphere, unique cocktails, and exquisite dishes. Whether you want to sip a few drinks at the bar, enjoy a multi-course meal, or host a corporate event, the Purveyor will happily accommodate you.

The new restaurant is the brainchild of Stephanie and Matt Mell, who also own the popular Church Street Wine Shoppe. After the success of the wine shop, the Mells decided to create another restaurant, and Purveyor was born.

The Restaurant

Purveyor is cozily tucked underneath the luxury loft apartments of The Avenue. The restaurant’s classic industrial style permeates throughout the décor, cocktail recipes and elegant fare. It is filled with unique details that work together to create a stylish and fun environment. The Purveyor’s tables and bar are made from salvaged wood and embellished with the restaurant’s logo by Southern Reclaimed Salvaged Barn. Ornate stained glass adorns the back door frame, and the servers wear an array of festive plaids. Even the plates have been hand-selected to compliment the décor and enhance the food that is served on them.

The restaurant also has an attached shop where patrons can purchase their favorite wine to go. It will also sell gourmet meats, cheeses, sodas and other tasty treats.

Food and Drinks

As with all great restaurants, the food and drinks are the stars of the show at Purveyor.

The menu is wine-and-bourbon-inspired with an American flair. Every effort is made to purchase local ingredients, and only the freshest ingredients are used. The food is as beautiful as it is delicious. Details, such as perfectly placed fresh flowers and splatted purple potatoes, enhance the artful appearance of every dish. The menu changes every few months in order to provide new, fresh and seasonal dishes.

There is an extensive drink menu and something to satisfy every palate. The innovative cocktails are made to order, and even the juice used in the drinks is freshly squeezed. Keeping with the classic industrial theme of the restaurant, each drink is named after industrialists or historical events.
