Announcing a new history tour, Civil War Bones by the creators of the Huntsville Ghost Walk! Yanks and Rebs, both, now spend eternity near each other. Some walked home from the war, others returned in pine boxes. Among the stories: the man who ordered the first shot fired at Fort Sumter, a man imprisoned for conspiring to kill Abraham Lincoln, Mary Lincoln’s brother, and a survivor of the immortal 600. Hear the stories of spies, daring prison escapes, hidden gold, and the woman that saved a college. Union soldiers came back to Huntsville to live after the war. They married local women and became prominent citizens. Tours begin at the Unknown Confederates plot on Wells Avenue.
