“Encounter a Voice From Huntsville’s Past” . . . as you stroll through beautiful Maple Hill Cemetery on a fall afternoon. Meet some dearly departed citizens from Huntsville’s earliest days to its recent past. The Stroll has long been one of Huntsville’s favorite events for learning more about the city’s rich history. Visit the gravesites of 70+ characters to hear their stories and enjoy seeing Huntsville’s history come to life. Sponsored by the Huntsville Pilgrimage Association, this event is free; donations received are designated for repair and preservation of the walls and tombstones of this historic municipal cemetery. Rain date: October 28.
Prior to start of the stroll, the Huntsville Madison County Historical Society will unveil the newly refurbished Maple Hill Cemetery historic marker.
