Symphony Classical Series: Romantic Revolution

  • 700 Monroe Street
  • Huntsville, AL 35801

The opening Classical program pays tribute to a power trio of musical revolutionaries, featuring Grieg’s music for Ibsen’s Peer Gynt, Sibelius’ Second Symphony – the “Symphony for Independence” – and pianist Melody Ng in Liszt’s electrifying Piano Concerto No.

The HSO is the oldest, continuously operating professional orchestra in the state of Alabama. The Orchestra’s genesis is intricately linked with the arrival of Wernher von Braun and his German rocket team, marking the beginning of an era of sensational growth in our city and creating a unique synthesis between old and new, cherished traditions and unprecedented progress
