At Blue Pants they like to make unreasonably good beer. The brewery is where the magic happens, where hops, barley, water, and yeast come together to make great craft beer. That’s really all you need. Their brewers started out as homebrewers, playing with ingredients, and learning which tastes they love.
The taproom is open seven nights a week, and flagship and seasonal beers are available on tap in bars and packaged on shelves throughout the region. Come enjoy some unreasonably good beer!
Flagship Beers: Amber Ale, Chocolate Oatmeal Porter, Hop Bursted IPA, Dry Hop Sour, Pinstripe Stout
Seasonal Beers: Pilsener (spring), Gose (summer), Oktoberfest (fall)
Huntsville Restaurant Week Special Brew August 10-19, 2018:
Cantalupulin - Mixed fermentation wheat with cantaloupe 4.6% abv 7 ibu
This Berliner style weisse beer was brewed back in March and fermented with a German ale yeast in a stainless steel vessel. After full attenuation, we transferred into wooden barrels to age for 3 months with brettanomyces and lactobacillus, a wild yeast and a lactic acid producing bacteria. This secondary fermentation in the barrel adds a subtle funk character and a very dry finish. To add further complexity, we've added fresh Alabama Cantaloupe to the barrel to allow the yeast to metabolize the natural sugars of the fruit. Once we see the third and final fermentation run it's course, we will then empty the barrel into a blending vessel and add a small dry hop charge of Citra to give it a heavy fruit and sweet melon aroma coming from the oils found within the lupulin glands of the hop plant, an essential ingredient in every beer.
