The high-tech city of Huntsville which sprawls at the foot of a mountain in North Alabama is equally at home in the 19th century or the 21st. Huntsville's tourist attractions reflect the heritage of Alabama's first English-speaking city, the strife of the American Civil War and the accomplishments of America's rocket scientists.The city is nicknamed "The Rocket City" for its close history with U.S. space missions. Huntsville has been important in developing space technology since the 1950s.
Rocket City Beach Bash
Fountain Circle (behind EarlyWorks) will be turned into a fabulous beach! Enjoy family-friendly beach activities, concessions & entertainment. Wading pools, an interactive fountain, inflatables, beach umbrellas, sand toys & more will add to the atmosphere & FUN! July 31st and August 1st. The beach will be both days, noon until 8:00p.m.

The Beach Bash is a fundraiser for Earlyworks with a portion of admission donated to the Governor's Emergency Relieft Fund in response to the Gulf oil spill.
