Burritt on the Mountain Unveils New Brand Identity

By Burritt on the Mountain on Oct. 01, 2026

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Burritt on the Mountain Unveils New Brand Identity, Honoring Its Legacy While Embracing a Fresh Future

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., October 1, 2026 — Burritt on the Mountain proudly introduced its new brand identity Tuesday, marking a significant milestone in the organization’s evolution from Huntsville’s first museum into a vibrant destination for education, nature, arts, recreation, and community connection. Created in partnership with Huntsville-based Bold Agency, the revitalized brand reflects both Burritt’s deep roots and its forward-looking vision.

The new wordmark ligatures draw its inspiration from the artistry of blacksmithing blending the elegance of traditional craftsmanship with organic, nature‑inspired forms. Accompanying the wordmark is a reimagined flower icon, paying tribute to Burritt’s previous Trillium symbol while presenting it through a modern lens. This refreshed stand-alone “B” icon encourages visitors to “B on the Mountain,” offering an open invitation to experience Burritt in new and meaningful ways.

Color plays a central role in the brand’s storytelling. The updated palette mirrors Burritt’s iconic mountaintop landscape: the crisp blue of the sky from The View, green tones that symbolize both its deep connection to nature and the region’s growing community, and a warm coral drawn from the unforgettable sunsets experienced from Burritt’s grounds. Together, these elements create a visual identity that celebrates Burritt’s legacy while signaling its readiness for the future.

For many longtime supporters and new visitors alike, Burritt remains an elegant retreat, offering sweeping vistas, peaceful surroundings, and opportunities to explore, learn, and connect year‑round. The rebrand honors this cherished history while expanding what Burritt represents to the region.

“This new brand reflects both who Burritt has always been and who we are becoming,” said Melanie Thornton, Burritt CEO. “As Huntsville has grown, Burritt has grown with it, and we want to continue evolving alongside the community we serve. We are honoring our history while inviting people to experience Burritt in new ways, whether that is through history, nature, art, recreation, or simply finding a beautiful place to slow down and reconnect. ‘A Fresh Perspective’ captures that perfectly.”

Whether visiting Burritt for the first time or you have visited hundreds of times, visitors are invited to experience this new chapter at Burritt, because now, more than ever, a fresh perspective awaits.
