Public Transportation

When you discover all the attractions the Rocket City has to offer, you'll also want to know how to get around town using public transportation.

The Shuttle Bus System runs Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on nine routes, covering over 175 miles of Huntsville streets every hour.

If you’re out exploring downtown Huntsville on the weekends, take advantage of the Downtown Free Trolley route on Friday and Saturday, from 7 p.m. to midnight. Check out this iHeartHsv.com blog post about this great service for locals and visitors alike.

If you’re around the University of Alabama Huntsville’s campus on a Friday night, the UAH Campus Route makes stops along retail and grocery stores, and a Campus Shuttle runs most Fridays from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. Huntsville also provides senior citizens and disabled individuals with Handi-Ride on Mondays through Fridays from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., offering specialized, door-to-door, demand-response paratransit service.
