Parks and Play Day, Saturday, May 12
Join Parks & Recreation and Huntsville Animal Services Downtown

HUNTSVILLE, AL – Please join Parks & Recreation and Huntsville Animal Services, along with Mountain High Outfitters, this Saturday, May 12, for a free family-friendly event at the Lydia Gold Skate Park and Downtown Dog Spot, 200 Cleveland Avenue NW, 35801.
The entertainment runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with skateboard instructors, a rock climbing wall, misting tent, adoptable dogs, food and more!
Mountain High Outfitters and other sport vendors will have extra skateboards and helmets for kids 6-16 years old to test and use. A beginners clinic will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., and instructors will be available throughout the event to give tips and help new and improving skaters. Only skateboards are allowed in the skate park and helmets are required.
Huntsville Animal Services will bring adoptable dogs to play with and visit, or you can bring your own canine for a Saturday outing at the Dog Spot dog park. Dogs must be on a leash outside of the dog park.
Food, drinks and shaved ice will be available from The Lumberyard, Buffalo Rock and Iceworks Shaved Ice.
Cleveland Avenue will be closed for the event and parking will be in the paved lot across from the parks. Portable bathrooms will be available.
Come out and have fun—maybe you will fall in love with a new sport!
