Displaying image002.jpgDisplaying image002.jpgHUNTSVILLE, Ala. - The U.S. Space & Rocket Center is holding a ribbon cutting and news conference for the opening of “The Science of Archimedes,” this Friday, Aug. 5, at 1:30 p.m. This traveling exhibit is making its world premiere at the Rocket Center, giving guests the first chance to join this journey through science and history.

Members of the awarding-winning Artisans of Florence International, the company that created “The Science of Archimedes,” will be on hand for interviews about the more than 140 items, including dozens of models, in this interactive exhibit. Archimedes’ inventions were the inspiration for machines of the ancient world for everything from warfare to capturing the power of energy. He was also the inspiration for such great minds as Da Vinci, Newton and Einstein and his concepts that are still used today.

Complete with computer animation and an activity area, “The Science of Archimedes,” is designed to engage guests ages 3 and up.
