It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Bridge Street Town Centre. A 45-foot Christmas tree, evening light shows, and Santa sightings add seasonal cheer to holiday shopping.

The festivities kick off in late November with a tree-lighting party and continue throughout December with dazzling light displays, carousel rides, and pop-up appearances by the man in red.

Below, we’ve rounded up a few Bridge Street holiday activities to look forward to this festive season.

Lights Up! Holiday Kick-Off

When: November 22, 4:30-7 pm

Christmas activities at Bridge Street launch this year on November 22 with the Lights Up! Holiday Kick-Off event to benefit Kids to Love.

Local choirs and the Alabama Youth Ballet Theater will perform to get the excitement up in anticipation of the official tree lighting and first holiday light show of the year. Be on the lookout for special characters as well — Santa and Sprocket (the Trash Panda’s mascot) are rumored to be making an appearance.

Letters to Santa Mailbox

When: November 22-December 18

Gather the kids and get those holiday wish lists ready! The Letters to Santa Mailbox at Bridgestreet launches on November 22 and will remain open until a week before Christmas.

The red and white striped post box is just outside the Bridge Street management office close to Red Robin. Keep an eye on your mailbox for a special response from Old Saint Nick!

Holiday Light Show

When: Fridays and Saturdays, November 23-December 21, 6-7:30 pm

Stop by Bridgestreet on weekend evenings throughout the holiday season to see the holiday lights twinkling to tunes. The light displays flash to life in front of the Christmas tree near Cinemark every 30 minutes beginning at 6 p.m. and each show lasts for about 10 minutes.

The Holiday Light Show starts after the big Holiday Kick-Off event and runs through December 21.

Mini Photo Sessions With Santa

When: December 1, 12-2:30 pm

Dress the kiddos up in their festive best and come on down to Anthropology on December 1 for mini photo shoots with Santa. A professional photographer will snap pics while your little one interacts with Santa in five-minute sessions.

This will be the only professional Santa photo session at Bridge Street this year, so reserve a spot now for your family.

Pet Pics With Santa

When: December 7, 2-4 pm

Fur babies need their photos with Santa, too! Bring the pups to the Bridge Street Christmas tree on December 7 to snap their holiday looks. For a donation to Luna Farms Rescue, your doggo or kitty can pose with Santa while you take their picture. There is no photographer on hand for this one, so have your phone or camera ready to go!

Menorah Lighting With Chabad of Huntsville

When: December 29, 4:30-6 pm

Celebrate Chanukah with Chabad of Huntsville located at the south stage near Apple. There will be a grand Menorah lighting, hot latkes, street performers, kids crafts, and more!

Carousel Rides

When: Ongoing

The Bridge Street carousel is extra fun during the holiday season in the cool air with twinkling lights after dark. Though it’s available to ride year-round, it makes the perfect activity for the kids while you’re out shopping or meeting Santa.

The carousel operates Monday through Saturday from noon to 8 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 6 p.m. Single rides are $3, or you can purchase a four-pack for $10 or an annual pass for $40.
