Brown Farm Strawberries

Looking for a place to pick strawberries in the spring? Brown Farms in New Market offers 15 acres of fresh berries that you can pick from the patches or purchase by the gallon.
The strawberries are usually ready by mid to late April, and the season lasts through May. Plus, the farm offers spots to picnic and play, and you can rent tables for birthday parties or family gatherings.
The Boyd Family Farm

Summer is blueberry season at Boyd Family Farm in Hazel Green. The nearly 40 acres of organic bushes open for picking in mid-June, and the season lasts into July.
The admission fee includes access to over 2,000 berry bushes, plus an on-site wildlife reserve full of animals and birds. For picking, you can bring your own bucket or rent or buy one on-site. The farm hosts other events throughout the year, like an Easter egg hunt in the spring and pumpkin patch in the fall.
Scott’s Orchard

Scott’s Orchard in Hazel Green is a popular apple-picking spot in fall, but did you know they also offer peaches in summer? Peach picking season starts in June and runs through August, and during this time, you’ll also find peach pie and other fruity treats in the country store.
Even if you don’t make it out to the farm in summer, you can pick up produce from Scott’s Orchard at local farmers' markets like the Greene Street Market and Madison City Farmers Market.
Field and Forage

A small flower farm in Huntsville run by a mother-daughter duo, Field and Forage, offers U-pick sessions in summer. Advance tickets are required and include a fresh bouquet you’ll clip yourself from the flower fields.
The farm is typically open on Friday evenings and Saturday mornings during the season. The farm hosts occasional special events like book clubs and wreath making throughout the year, so check their social media accounts to see what’s on.
Hubert Farms

Pick-your-own isn’t just for produce — Madison County has flower farms, too! Hubert Farms in New Market is a local favorite in early spring, with rows of tulips in shades of yellow, red, pink, and orange.
The season is short, running for just a couple of weeks in late March to early April, but the photo ops, beautiful blooms, and on-site weekend markets and food vendors make it a fun outing in spring.
Mullins Orchard

Mullins Orchard in Meridianville offers a range of pick-your-own fruit throughout the summer season. Blackberries and blueberries are usually available in June, and muscadines in late August and September.

Henry’s Family Farm
Henry’s Family Farm does the produce picking for you, selling their organic fruits and veggies as well as vegan desserts and cut flowers at Huntsville-area markets. The farm also runs a CSA program that you can sign up for online for a monthly box full of fresh goodies (think beets, corn, kale, eggplant, and sweet potatoes).
You can find them seasonally at the Greene Street Market on Thursdays, Oakwood Farms Market on Fridays, and MidCity Farmers Market on Sundays.
