Explore how trains and the railroad impacted our history from the Civil War to Civil Rights. Climb aboard a boxcar to learn the history of the railroad in transporting soldiers to war. Walk through the lobby and learn how Wernher von Braun’s arrival at the Depot changed Huntsville forever. Through hands-on activities and the examination of artifacts and primary sources, students will travel through a hundred years of history to learn how the railroad impacted our community from the Antebellum Period to the Space Age.
