After the years we’ve had, we’re looking to make our area a little sweeter by introducing the Madison County Carb Trail. What exactly is the Carb Trail? We’ve taken locally-owned bakeries and put them on a “treat yourself” trail that spans across Huntsville and Madison County. We invite you to knife-and-fork your carbs, or just take a bite!
These are the participants in the 2022 Trail:
Baby Bite Bake Shop
Bigfoot's Little Donuts
Dolce Pan Bakery
Hamley Bake Shoppe
Mason Dixon Bakery
Royalty Funnel Cakes
The Dessert Fork
The Moon Bakeshop
The Bakingtist (Bonus)
Our neighbor across the street from the Huntsville/Madison County Visitor Center, Canadian Bakin, has been embracing the carb lifestyle since 2017. We are now believers. Complex or simple, they are a part of many of our lives. According to the Cleveland Clinic, “Carbohydrates are a type of macronutrient found in certain foods and drinks. Sugars, starches, and fiber are carbohydrates. Other macronutrients include fat and protein. Your body needs these macronutrients to stay healthy.” Do we recommend going to all of the bakeries in one day? No. However, we suggest you make plans to visit each of them by the end of the year. As our friends at Parks & Rec say, “Treat Yo Self!”
What happens when you’ve visited each location? You will have supported the hospitality industry, your local owners, and made yourself happier. In the words of Willy Wonka, “You get nothing.” But hey - it wasn’t really about a prize at the end of the day, was it? It was about the experience and memories made. So tag us in your photos using #DineHsv or #iHeartHsv!
This is a fun way to support our businesses. Enjoy our sweet April Fool's joke.
