Rocket science isn’t all Huntsville imported from Germany!
One of the year’s most anticipated events is Oktoberfest, a German tradition with an Alabaman twist, which is hosted by Redstone Arsenal Family and MWR. Enjoy authentic German cuisine like schnitzel, bratwurst and sauerkraut while sipping beer by the stein. High-energy polka music and dancing is a staple of Oktoberfest, as are a variety of carnival rides, like an iconic Ferris wheel.
Campus No. 805, one of Huntsville's most unique venues, also hosts a special Oktoberfest event with lots of craft beer from Yellowhammer and Straight to Ale breweries.
In the backcountries of Germany, people let loose the way we all do: with friends, food, music and dancing. Anyone wanting to have good, old-fashioned community fun absolutely has to make it out for Huntsville’s unique Oktoberfest experience.
Hint: Oktoberfest at Redstone Arsenal always happens in September (the authentic European time!), so make sure you look for event details early!
